Overview

Launched in 2021, the AccessLex | AASE Faculty Scholarship Grant supports scholarship by academic support (ASP) faculty in any area; ASP-focused articles are especially welcome. Selected Scholars join an approximately one-year fellowship, receive a $5,000 research grant, and work with two mentors.

Purpose

AASE and AccessLex are dedicated to the academic and bar success of law students across the nation. An important point of this collaboration is to support the scholarship of academic support educators, especially those who are newer to the discipline and face challenges in getting such support.

What recipients receive

  • $5,000 research grant.
  • Two research mentors and a fellowship cohort.
  • Travel support to present on the scholarship at conferences.
  • Visibility within the ASP community (recipients are announced at the AASE Annual Conference).

Eligibility

  • Open to AASE members who are academic support faculty or professionals at accredited law schools.
  • Projects may be in any scholarly area; ASP-related work is encouraged.

Review process

The application review committee will use a blind review policy, and review committee members will not know the identity or institutional affiliation of grant applicants.
